Made from soft English leather with a strong nylon core to resist stretching they have a loop at the top end closed with a T bar fitting to allow them to be fixed to closed stirrup rings as found on saddles like the Barefoot, Startrekk Comfort, Trekker and Freeform and other similar designs.

The stirrup end is also adusted with another T bar buckle.

Barnes Buckle Original

The Barnes Buckle fits between the stirrup and the leather and releases the stirrup should the rider’s foot become trapped during a fall thus preventing the rider from being dragged.

The Buckle is made from marine grade stainless steel (no problems with rust!) and under normal riding conditions it will withstand 1,400 kgs before parting. However, the change of angle should the rider’s foot become trapped during a fall will mean that the buckle releases with just 6 kgs of pressure, thus preventing the rider from being dragged.

Sold in pairs.

Barnes Buckle Professional

Safestyle Stirrups

The Safestyle is a half open stirrup which encourages proper leg position and seat. Perfectly balanced, it correctly places two/thirds of the foot to the outside of the stirrup whilst its added weight improves lower leg position.
